Real Photography Beats AI for Business Content

Real photography brings more real life into your business content.

I took this photo at Manly Beach. Even though a large percentage of All Ages Creative Academy is online, my in-person clients are often local. And to them, this image is familiar and relatable.

WHAT ABOUT TEMPLATES AND AI-GENERATED ALTERNATIVES?

Stock photos, templates and AI tools all have their place. But when every business is pulling from the same sources, everything starts looking and feeling the same. This does not help our marketing goals.

WHY DO REAL PHOTOS OF THE LOCAL AREA MATTER?

A real photo of your local area is not only original, it works in a similar way to local SEO.

Local SEO is about helping people connect your business with a real place. Bonus points for being easy to travel to!

Using your own local photos does a similar job visually.

A photo of your street, suburb, beach, café, shopfront, workspace or local view, can help to connect with people you want to reach.

HOW OFTEN TO POST?

If you post, say, 3-4 times a week, even one original photo - or video - per week will start to change how your website or social feed feels.

USING CANVA TO CREATE YOUR MARKETING

Canva design decisions also matter. Templates can be useful, of course, but again, we need to be aware of how similar these templates tend to look. Even more-so now that so many people are using AI to create the actual design. (Cringing slightly as I type this….)

Now, I realise this could sound like ‘even more work’ to do, however…

As your image is the focus, you can keep the design style simple, and use the same format each week. And chances are your captions will also be easier to write. These could very well turn out to be the most time efficient posts you create.
